Tyrannosaurus rex

Tyrannosaurus rex which means (Tyrant Lizard King) is the largest meat eating dinosaur of North America and a dinosaur that had the strongest bite force of any dinosaur that ever lived. In fact the biggest T. rex found so far is named, Scotty and was found in Eastend, Saskatchewan.

The first T, rex was discovered in the Hell Creek Formation in Montana, USA, by paleontologist Barnum Brown in 1902. It was then put on display at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City in 1915.

Cool facts about T. rex:

- Tyrannosaurus rex is known for it's small arms, but the arms are actually the same length of an adult human arm, but a lot stronger as it could lift at least 400lbs per arm.

- It is the most well known of all the dinosaurs and the first one most children not only pronouce correctly but pronouces the full scientific name.

- A single tooth was about the size of a banana and had serrations on it like a steak knife in order to help it slice through skin and muscle when biting down. The thickness of the teeth also allowed it to crush bone while it bit down.
